Procurement

Leadership and management of supply tendering processes, to ensure that Akari obtains value for money, high quality and resilient services/supplies. End to end management of such processes, from definition of requirement, sourcing, tender analysis, negotiation and implementation

Continuous search for optimum supply relationships, in order to mitigate supply chain risk

Performance management of key suppliers utilising feedback from Home Managers and KPI’s

Management of Procurement projects between supplier and end customer, (our Care Homes)

Provision of Procurement expertise in cross functional projects – The role will span procurement activity across a wide range of direct and indirect cost categories

Management of Supplier and contractor compliance process

New supplier set ups - end to end process with supplier and finance colleagues

Working closely with Operations Finance Business partner to analyse spend data to inform Procurement activity

Maintain contract and key supplier listings with most up to date information, and ensure budget holders and stakeholders have the correct information

Line management of Procurement Administrator

Estates

Management of Estates Helpdesk function, ensuring that reactive jobs are being managed through to completion, and PPM tasks are always completed on time

Provide monthly updates of PPM compliance percentages and take remedial action where necessary.

Oversight of PPM remedial spend, with ongoing tracking and reporting

Maintenance and continuous review of contractor portfolio – both in terms of rates and service with regular feedback reviews from Home Managers

Assistance with service reviews and quarterly contractor meetings through the provision of KPI reporting and performance feedback

Monitoring monthly capex spending and tracking project spend versus budgeted spend for the quarter, highlighting where necessary over or underspends to aide estates managers to prioritise work / approvals for work

Reviewing and monitoring reactive activities to utilise the internal structure appropriately and minimise spending on repairs via contractors

Coordinate the review and actions resulting from estates risk assessments and regulatory PPMs with Estates managers

Superuser of the Facilities Management system

Personal Qualities and Experience

Line management experience

Team player – “hands on, sleeves up” approach

Proactive in seeking guidance when working beyond current knowledge or experience

Strong communicator with the confidence to positively challenge, influence and support at all levels

Proven analytical skills backed up by excellent commercial acumen

Positive, self-motivated and able to work effectively without close supervision and on own initiative

Highly organised / structured approach, with the ability to co-ordinate a large number of tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines

Excellent communication and presentational skills to differing roles in the business

Care sector (or similar) experience would be desirable, but not essential

Procurement experience is essential
